Characteristics... the organised one

Using our natural instinct to organise and then letting it be

I think most women recognise this characteristic in themselves. If you already have children you may recognise it coming up particulary when your babies were very near to making an appearance. It seems like those hormones can help us out to create a beautiful space and a sweet arrival. Unfortunately there aren't that many things we get to control in pregnancy and childbirth.

However, we can plan how we would like it to me. One of the core themes in the Bhagavad Gita, a central text in yoga says to work without being attached to the fruits of our labours. Not that easy when the fruits of your labour is your child. Slightly more palatable perhaps is the idea that we can prepare ourselves by how we treat our body, how we communicate with the important people in our birth team, how we prepare our home and environment.

Then we have to let it go. One of the most important pieces to this puzzle is to make time for relaxation. It sounds crazy but it is critically important for so many reasons and not at all an indulgence. Apart from anything else, it will help you out a lot with the letting go part of the equation.
