The power of meditation

Meditation has been a bedrock for me, here's a bit more on that

MeditationMeditation is the one practice I do and have done pretty consistently. I've never really considered it before in the context of pregnancy, childbirth and early motherhood before as it is a constant thread and as such hard to pull out of my experience and isolate as if looking at it through a microscope.

But perhaps this is the point. The practices we have are there to support us. They don't exist for us to be enslaved by them. That's why the change. Because they adapt for us, as part of us, within our psyche. And meditation is as adaptable as it comes. You don't need to close your eyes, or even be still. All you need is present moment awareness. It's that simple and that complicated.

This is how meditation becomes interwoven in our every day life. I remember feeling, shortly after I became a mother that I had a reserve of practice that was going to support me for a while. Eventually it would need topping up but I had some in the tank. It was and is my fuel.

So even a little goes a long way. Top it up now and then and it inevitably starts to permeate through the rest of our life.
